Xiaomi’s biggest smartphone to date has been announced in its home market and the name Mi Max is the best fit for it. The Mi Max gets a gigantic 6.4-inch display but the 1920x1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution doesn’t offer much excitement.

The company claims that the Mi Max even with its bulging form size and weight will be easy to carry and use (hard to believe that). This phablet packs a Snapdragon 650/652 octa-core processor, with the option of going for 3/4GB RAM with 32/64 or 128GB storage variants.

Yes, it’s dual-SIM, the storage is expandable further, and the display gets Corning Glass 4 protection.

Xiaomi Mi Max is not only the first Xiaomi phone sized above 6 inches but is also the first to get the all new MiUi 8 software version which is built over Android 6.0 Marshmallow. One of the eye-catching features of the new UI is that users can login to the device with two different accounts, just like the way you’ve been doing on the PC for years.

There’s a 16-megapixel snapper at the back (hopefully better than the one on Redmi Note 3) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

But what’s the most intriguing part about the Mi Max, other than its size? The 4850mAh battery unit. Starting from RMB 1,499 (Rs 15,300 approx) the Xiaomi Mi Max is bigger than the Apple iPhone 6S Plus but a lot cheaper and seems not very power-friendly.
