OnePlus, a global technology startup, after running teasers for over a month, finally announced its latest flagship product – OnePlus 2.
Following the global success of last year’s OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2, like its predecessor, also boasts of some top-of-the-line specs.
Case in point: the OnePlus 2 has an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame with jewelry-grade stainless steel accents. It comes with a full HD 5.5 inch IPS LCD In-Cell display.The phone weighs 175 grams and comes with a 3300mAh lithium polymer battery. The OnePlus 2 will support two Nano SIM cards with 4G LTE capability.

The phone will be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, that is the fastest processor on the market and will be paired with 4GB LPDDR$ RAM.
Lovers of the shutterbug may rejoice, for the OnePlus 2 sports a 13 megapixel rear facing camera that boasts of 6 physical lenses, a powerful dual LED flash, and an f/2.0 aperture. The camera sensor contains large 1.3 µm light-collecting pixels to deliver low-light shots.
In addition to OnePlus’ signature Sandstone Black, consumers will now have access to a range of covers including actual wood built Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and even Kevlar.
The One Plus 2 also comes equipped with a USB Type-C charging port. The company has also loaded this phone with a fingerprint scanner – adding the much-needed security and convenience that was missing from the One Plus One device.
The OnePlus 2 becomes the first device in the world to ship with OnePlus’ own operating system, OxygenOS which is based on Android 5.0.
Pricing and availability
The 64GB OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase with an invite in India, starting August 11, for Rs. 24,999 – exclusively on Amazon. The 16GB OnePlus 2 with 3GB LPPDR4 RAM will be available later this year.

Fans can visit the pop-up experience centres in Delhi and Bangalore on July 31 to sign up for an invite and be one of the first in the world to see the OnePlus 2.
