LeTV is a new brand in India. Huawei’s Honor, on the other hand, has seen it all over the past couple of years. But when it comes to mobile phones, the product speaks for itself. Both brands have launched their respective affordable devices in recent times, and they are definitely worth to be looked at.
We’re talking about the LeTV Le 1S and the Honor 5X, both priced under Rs 15,000 right now. You might argue that there are plenty of options to choose from in this price range, so what’s so different about these two devices? So here’s a lowdown on both the phones. Design
While both Le 1S and the Honor 5X sport an all-metal body, it’s safe to say that the Le 1S looks well-built in comparison to the Honor 5X. Also, we like the zero-bezel display of the Le 1S that makes it look smaller than its size.
The Honor 5X on the other hand rightly fits into the slab of a 5.5-inch device. Having said that, the Honor 5X feels much lighter than the Le 1S, which might be of interest to people who end up traveling a lot during the day. We prefer the Le 1S for its physical backlit buttons over the software built-in option on the Honor 5X.
On the whole, Le 1S feels like a better-packaged product among the two.
Display and Fingerprint Scanner
The display quality of the Le1S has better panels, but the Honor 5X offers true colour reproduction. The former’s touch interface is smoother than the one on Honor 5X which does not add up when you consider its pricing. Both have the same display size, which is why it was easy for us to compare both these phones.
As you can see above, both sport fingerprint scanners at the back that are fast and responsive to touches and support multiple fingerprint registers. It was a tough call, but we’d have to give it to the Le 1S for its superior display quality and performance.
Camera and Performance
Both the Le 1S and Honor 5X come equipped with cameras that are of same megapixels; both on the front and back. But as you can see below, the Le 1S seems to have an upper hand over the Honor 5X in the imaging department as well.
The colours on the Le 1S look sharper with prominent details. The Honor 5X lacks in the focus department, and the colours looked washed out.
Battery and Pricing
Both phones also have the same capacity battery, i.e. 3000mAh. Much to our delight, both of them offer decent usage levels. We managed to use both the phones on a single charge for more than a day, using it on a regular basis.
When you pitch the LeTV 1S and Honor 5X against each other with regards to pricing, it’s fair to say that the former offers better value at Rs 10,999 than the latter, priced at Rs 12,999. However, one must take a note of the fact that the Le 1S is available via flash sale, while the Honor 5X is openly available online.
