Online food delivery platform Swiggy faced an outage in different parts of India on Wednesday, 18 September, with several users complaining on social media of not being able to place their orders.

The Bengaluru-based food delivery giant is yet to officially confirm the reason behind the down time it had on Wednesday afternoon. Downdetector.in, a website that tracks outages on websites, also confirmed the issue with Swiggy.

The downtime was reported by over 152 people and thankfully, it came back online after about 25 minutes.

The popular food-delivery platform was facing heavy traffic because of which users couldn’t order their lunch.

But it didn’t take long for the hungry Indian Twitterverse to realise they were left hungry earlier on Wednesday.

Some people went calling for ‘help’ as the delivery platform decided to go AWOL, right during the lunch time. Not cool, Swiggy.

Strangely, different users were getting different error messages on the app.

As always, the outage map showed that the issues were spotted across major cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata to some extent.

This is the second incident of Swiggy going down in less than one month. Earlier on 28 August, many users were unable to order food in the evening.
