Creative is a brand that’s tried to evolve with changing trends. I still remember using Creative’s desktop speakers back in the day, and for the price, those were more than I could ask for. The company makes some rugged speakers now, and with the Aurvana series, they’re trying to stay relevant yet again.
The Aurvana In-Ear2 Plus is a not-so-affordable pair of earphones, priced upwards of Rs 8,000. For this price, you get noise-cancellation, sharp audio tones and a built-in microphone for voice calling support. Can Creative meddle in the Sennheiser territory and come up trumps?
Pros:
- Crisp audio tone and sound delivery
- Decent noise cancellation
- Built-in microphone
- Good for subtle music genre
- Impressive product packaging
Cons:
- Priced on the higher side
- Lacks deep bass levels
What’s Good?
Creative has given the Aurvana series a premium touch, something that’s vital for audio gear at this price point. The earphones get a grey-coloured metal finish that doesn’t look too shabby, and fair play to Creative for the well-thought-out design of the In-Ear2 Plus.
The soft buds bundled with the In-Ear2 Plus are lightweight making it easy to wear, and can be used for long hours without any discomfort. This goes a long way in giving us the confidence that Creative can stand neck-and-neck against established brands like Sennheiser and JBL among others.
The built-in microphone is a must-have for users in 2016, and we’re glad at what Creative manages to give us here. The mic unit combines the volume control button, that takes cranks up the audio levels of the In-Ear2 Plus to greater heights.
What about the audio on offer? Lots to like about the sound output that the In-Ear2 Plus delivers. Granted that it goes mildly soft on tempo, but that’s exactly what suits a connoisseur of classics.
And finally, it is hard to argue with the packaging of the Aurvana In-Ear2 Plus. You get a leather-made pouch that comes wrapped in a plastic box.
What’s Bad?
The soft-touch tones of the In-Ear2 Plus mean that bass lovers should look away. These seriously lack the deep levels of bass that an EDM or Rock music enthusiast would need.
All things considered, we’re finding it hard to understand the reason behind the steep pricing of the In-Ear2 Plus. At this level, we expect an all-round package that ticks the boxes for all kinds of music listeners.
Why Buy It?
If you’re a Jazz/Blues fanatic, then Creative Aurvana In-Ear2 Plus is worth looking at. This is a pair of earphones that doesn’t compromise on class, especially for its price point. However, you won’t get a lot of joy in the bass department, which can leave most of us feeling aggrieved.
