Reliance is offering its 4G smart feature device for 699 as a part of the JioPhone Diwali offer in the country. The offer will be available from 4 October onwards.

The phone was launched at Rs 1,500 effectively in the market, which helped Reliance Jio become the leading feature phone player in the market, surpassing traditional mobile brands like Samsung, Micromax and Lava among others.

The discounted price of the JioPhone is available for a limited time, and Jio confirmed that you don’t have to exchange old phone to get the JioPhone at this price point.

The company claims that Rs 699 for JioPhone is cheaper than most 2G feature phones available in the market, who’d probably want to upgrade to a phone which lets them use the internet.

The JioPhone Diwali offer is also bundled with additional 4G data (worth Rs 99) for the first 7 recharges made by the user.

The phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, powered by a dual-core chipset coupled with 512MB RAM. You get 4GB onboard storage, which is further expandable.

Battery back-up seems sufficient as it comes with a 2000mAh non-removable battery that provides stand-by up to 15 days. There’s a 2-megapixel camera at the back, and a 0.3-megapixel front camera which can be used to make video calls.

The front sports a physical keypad which is comfortable to navigate. It also has voice assistant which gets activated by pressing down and holding the button with the mic icon. More importantly, apps like YouTube, WhatsApp and Hotstar are also compatible with the device.

The phone has support for features like NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, Bluetooth, and GPS as well. For Rs 699, the JioPhone is a pretty good and effective devices but it seems the discounted price offer is only applicable on JioPhone and not the second generation device.
