Going Full-Throttle

Getting 100 million users on board in less than five years, let alone two years, is a monumental task. But looks like Reliance Jio’s ready to put all the eggs in one basket.

By letting consumers have the Jio 4G SIM without them having to move beyond their living room, would have been music to ears of many of us, few weeks back.

It must be noted that the Door Step Delivery (DSD) option can be availed by people who carry a local Aadhaar ID.

We’ve been told by our sources, that this is a pilot program, available only to consumers in Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune among others right now. Users receiving the invite will get the chance to order the SIM to their place, as per their time of convenience.

Reality Check

Jio has its work cut out to get users on board. After a rollicking start, Jio’s rate of getting subscribers on board has come down recently, as per this report.

That’s not all, Reliance Jio outlet PAN India, has been getting complaints that the internet speeds have badly come down over the past three months. Reliance Jio may also extend its ‘welcome offer’ and introduce new price plans in the Rs 200-300 average revenue per user (ARPU) bracket, the report adds.
