Player Unknown’s Battleground or more commonly known as PUBG is an online multiplayer game that has become a rage among all PC, PS4 and especially mobile gamers in the world.

The maker of the game, Tencent, has announced that it will be rolling out an update on 25 October. This is the update number 0.9.0 according to the game’s developers.

Apart from a new Halloween Mode, there are other additions expected like a night mode, night-vision goggles, new weapons and also new vehicles.

Wait... there’s more!

It’s impossible for me to write down all the updates in this one story. Below is a complete list of all the changes and updates that will take place in the game.

Here are some of the highlights of the upcoming update.

Halloween Mode

Halloween, which is celebrated on 31 October in some parts of the world, is a festival dedicated to remembering the dead. The update will include a festive makeover to islands where the players will spawn.

The players will also be able to interact with other players by picking up pumpkins and candies (collecting candy from door-to-door is a customary tradition during Halloween).

Also, enemies killed via an AKM will turn into scarecrows rather than boxes.

These changes will only reflect during the Halloween period where players will have a 50 percent chance of activating the Night Mode.

Speaking of Night Mode...

Night Mode

The Erangel map in the game is set to get a night mode. The transition from day to night will be dynamic and light will dim while you are playing the game.

Since visibility will be a concern in the game the update will also offer night vision goggles, which players will be able to collect from buildings and loot materials.

The game's developers will also also introduce new trees, buildings and covers to make the map more challenging and the gameplay more engaging during the night.

New Spectator Mode

The new Spectate Mode in the game allows players to watch their opponents play even after they die. Also, players will be able to view the gameplay of their partners in duos or squads play.

The new update will also offer an option for the players to turn on projectile and bullet trajectories while spectating in room mode.

Other Updates

There a lot more updates one can look forward to post the 0.9.0 update. There will be a movie picture style that will be added to settings.

Once selected, the style will apply to all maps. Don’t really know what the format or design will look like so anxiously waiting for the update.

The update also includes a new QBU assault rifle, which uses 5.56 ammo, dancing grenades, landmine, and also a new pickup truck called Rony. Most of these upgrades will reflect on the recently released Sanhok map.

You will also be able to play random music while driving vehicles. Something ‘inspired’ from the GTA series.

PUBG servers seem to have been down since morning. They may be up and running with the update by midnight or by tomorrow depending on which part of the world you access it from. There are possibilities that the update will be rolled out in batches so don’t expect to be the first in line.

And remember. Play hard!
