Free Version of PUBG Debuts for Low End PCs, Could Come to India

Free to play PUBG Lite version for low-end PCs goes live. Testing starts in Thailand.

Riding high on the “freemium” mode of revenue, PUBG developers have decided to release a free-to-play version of the game for the PC platform which will run on low-end computers as well.

The version is being dubbed PUBG Lite has been released for beta testing in Thailand but don’t be surprised if the game heads to other countries in the Asian region.

Developers have confirmed that the Lite version of the game is as good as the Steam version and has been launched to compete with rival battle royale PC game Fortnite.

According to a post on the company’s website, the Lite version of PUBG will be able to run on PCs utilizing integrated graphics. Here’s a look at the system requirements for PUBG Lite:

Players using the PUBG Lite version will be able to participate in battles of up to 100 players in a battle royal format. The game will offer support for budget gaming rigs and will be available to play in Solo/Duo/Squad and in TPP (third person perspective) mode.

PUBG Lite includes the Miramar (desert map), Erangel (original PUBG map) and the game’s training mode.
