PM Modi’s UPI-Based BHIM App Now Supports Hindi, Kannada & Tamil

The app now allows customers to transfer money to Aadhaar number-linked bank accounts.

An updated version of mobile payment app BHIM, launched last month by PM Narendra Modi, now supports seven new languages, including Hindi, Kannada and Bengali.

Version 1.2 of the UPI-based BHIM (or Bharat Interface for Money) app is available on Google Play Store. According to its creator NCPI, it offers enhanced security features and superior user experience which makes digital transactions much more safe and secure.

The key feature though is supports for seven more languages, which includes Tamil, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia and Telugu. We had earlier highlighted the need for the app to support local languages.

In addition to this, the eagerly awaited "Pay to Aadhaar Number" option has also makes been introduced.

The user needs to select Aadhaar Pay from the options menu on the top-right corner. This allows customers to transfer money to Aadhaar number-linked bank accounts.

The "SPAM Report" feature help users to block unknown persons requesting payments. This addition comes on the back of users complaining about getting payment request from fake numbers.
