Panasonic’s New Rugged Handheld Tablets and Toughbook Launched

Panasonic India is focusing on product differentiation, and as a part of that initiative has launched a new Toughbook (Notebook) and Toughpads (Tablet) in India.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 and X1 is a fully-rugged, 5-inch handheld tablet, and the Toughbook CF-54 is a semi-rugged notebook.

The Panasonic FZ-E1 handheld tablet is powered by Windows Embedded 8.1 operating system and the FZ-X1, and runs on Android 4.2 KitKat operating system. The enterprise-class devices are priced at Rs.119,000 and Rs. 109,000 respectively.

With the industry moving towards unification of enterprise and carrier networks, we are offering all-inclusive solutions to different market segments. The new products build on the legacy of nearly two decades of rugged devices from Panasonic to accomplish the mission of professionals in the most demanding work environments. With this launch, we are looking at increasing our presence in the Rugged IT devices segment from an existing 60% to almost 65%.

The new toughpads are built to improve efficiency and productivity for professionals working in the field of defense, public safety, logistics, utilities, manufacturing, retail and field services.

The Toughpad FZ-E1 and X1 can survive a drop of 10 feet on concrete and are IP65 and IP68 water resistant. The devices are the first Toughpad’s to offer voice calling. There is also 6400 mAh battery on them that the company claims will last for 10 hours after a full charge.

The semi-rugged Toughbook CF-54 on the other hand has been created for usage in the automotive diagnostic industry and field work, mainly for indoor maintenance.

The Toughbook CF-54 is loaded with a new 5th Gen Intel Core i5-5300U vPro processors clocked at 2.3 GHz and can go upto 2.9 GHz with Intel turbo Boost technology. The Toughbook CF-54 is priced at Rs. 139,000.
