One of the first and most popular social media platforms is back again. Orkut, a word that makes most of us nostalgic, has launched a new social network named hello.

Hello is the next generation of Orkut, and is probably the first social network that lets you connect with people who have the same interest and passions as you.

In the age of social networking, most of us sometimes wonder if we have lost ourselves, but Hello lets you express what you are passionate about, discover the content that you care about and be yourself.

Orkut Büyükkökten, the creator of Orkut and Hello, wrote a welcoming message for people to use Hello in his blog post and described how it is different from other social network sites.

Hello is the first social network built on loves, not likes. I designed Hello to help you connect with people who share your passions.

Hello is different from Facebook and Twitter as it asks you to select five “personas” that you have an interest in and hence it will help you connect with people of the same interest.

The app encourages image-based posts, while text-based posts are not allowed. And each time you post something, you have to assign it to at least one the five personas that you have chosen, which helps in widening the network.

Apart from connecting you with people of the same interest, it also lets you play games, competing with your friends.

Although it is not presently available in India, it will surely be a fun app to use. Can’t wait to say hello to ‘Hello’!
