OnePlus 7 Pro users across the globe got a weird looking push notification on Monday, which the company claims was sent to them mistakenly.

The message carried random syllables and came as a shock to users of the flagship OnePlus phone, who immediately shared their concern on social media.

Fortunately, OnePlus was quick to spot the development and issued an official apology to few of those OnePlus 7 Pro users who got this message earlier today and assured them of providing more details when available.

Having said that, OnePlus hasn’t detailed how many were exactly affected by this test notification, which was directing users to a blank website, which wasn’t detailed by the company either.

Push notifications are sent by companies and are associated with apps or linked to a web browser.

Push notification have been a cause of irritation for smartphone users for quite some time now. Thankfully, mobile manufacturers now give you the option to disable it, which is available in the settings menu of most phones, where you can search for Broadcast message option in the settings drawer.

Mistakes like these happen very rarely and kudos to OnePlus for admitting the error from its end. And hopefully this error didn’t end up costing users of the OnePlus 7 Pro and the company will be careful with these mishaps in the near future.
