The Avengers Endgame has come to an end, and the whole world knows that Iron Man aka Robert Downey Junior bids farewell to the Marvel franchise. But this week, OnePlus has publicly announced that everybody’s favourite Marvel hero will now be its brand ambassador for the OnePlus 7 series.
He will be seen in brand activities for the company in India as well as China, the company mentioned in its statement. Downey Jr. will be seen endorsing OnePlus 7 Pro in these markets, which is the company’s first phone to cost more than Rs 50,000 in India.
This is the first time when a global superstar will be representing the brand for one of its biggest markets.
We’ve seen OnePlus phones being endorsed by Big B aka Amitabh Bachchan many times in the country, but the appeal of Downey Jr. is likely to be much higher for a brand which has mostly got its buyers in the 18 to 35 years bracket.
OnePlus 7 Pro was announced along side the OnePlus 7 for US, UK and the Indian market on 14 May this week. The phone gets flagship hardware, with a Snapdragon 855 processor and up to 12GB RAM, offering up to 256GB non-expandable storage.
This is also the first OnePlus phone to pack a pop-up front camera and three sensors at the back, catering to main camera, wide and ultra wide as well. The phone is priced starting from Rs 48,999 for the base model, going up to Rs 57,999 for the top 12GB RAM variant. The OnePlus 7 has been aggressively priced at Rs 32,999 which is lower than what the 6T was priced at.
