Ever since Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6, rumours about OnePlus 6T have gathered traction. Although the company has not given out much about their next phone; reports and rumours indicate that the 6T could launch this year.

Interestingly, since its inception, every time One Plus launch a new phone, they discontinue the older one – when it added OnePlus 5T to its lineup last year, they discontinued the OnePlus Five.

As per the trends, OnePlus phones receive the ‘T’ treatment within a few months of launch.

However, what added fuel to the fire was that on the OnePlus forum, the forum’s Assistant Head moderator confirmed that the 6T exists and is just a few months away from now.

Replying to a person’s query if he should wait for the OnePlus 6T if he is planning to buy the Oneplus 6, the moderator said, “If you want to wait for 6T please do so as it will be out in coming months. When we need to wait for the official announcement”, a website called Piunikaweb reported.

This should not be treated as official confirmation, especially with the rumours coming from a moderator.

A Pop-Up Camera Like Vivo Nex?

Earlier, a video had surfaced that hinted at the phone carrying a pop-up selfie camera, similar to the Vivo Nex setup.

In a recently published render on YouTube, the front camera pops up from the middle, rather than on the left side like the Vivo Nex and used two lenses. The video also showed the 6T render having three camera’s at the back.

These renders are just fan made and should not be taken into account. There is still no official word on the design or the specifications or the launch of the phone.

The OnePlus 6 was launched in May as the company's flagship device. It uses a Snapdragon 845 processor, paired to either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and houses a notch that sits on the top of its 6.28-inch screen.
