You’ve been asking smartphone-makers to magically increase battery life of phones, but what about laptops?
Which is why it’s great to see that Windows-powered laptops are on the cusp of running for multiple days.
Microsoft is making this happen with Qualcomm, which has designed laptop-centric small size processors, something that we’ve already seen with mobiles.
As you can imagine, these chips are smaller than a traditional laptop processor, which frees up space inside the laptop, enabling them to fit bigger-sized batteries.
A senior Microsoft executive confirmed this development earlier this week, saying that upcoming Windows 10 laptops powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile chips will offer "multi-day" battery life.
These laptops would run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 platform which is the same processor that powers flagship Android smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S8, OnePlus 5 and LG V30.
There has been a lot of chatter about wireless charging and portable chargers for laptops in recent years. The likes of Intel and Dell have showcased some of their prototypes, but offering longer battery life could trump all other innovations said to be in the works.

We still can’t be sure if a mobile-powered chip could carry its weight for a big-sized notebook, but looking at how mobiles have become more powerful than some laptops (with more RAM in tow), it would be worth seeing what the manufacturers have in store for us.
