We’re not done yet, this is a new beginning.

That’s the message Micromax sent out at its event on Wednesday, where we also saw the launch of Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro smartphones.

Micromax has been running a stable ship which had failed to move beyond its corners in recent years, but as the company states, there is more to come. In one of its biggest product showcase, Micromax has taken its time to overhaul its current identity, add more products to its consumer electronics catalogue and start selling via its Micromax online store as well.

Interestingly, the company has also delved into the services space recently, with payments at the top of its agenda. Yu Televentures first showed us the potential of AroundYu on the sidelines of Yu Yutopia launch event, and now the same has been absorbed by Micromax as well.

The company is also said to be working on a unified software interface that will be seen running on the upcoming range of Canvas phones, across segments. They’ve also launched a slew of 4G-enabled tablets which will be available in the coming weeks.

But as always, we will look closer at the latest Canvas smartphone, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro. Priced at Rs 13,999 both these phones will be available on Micromax’s e-store.

Micromax claims that the Canvas 6 is their first unibody metal smartphone with a fingerprint scanner. It comes powered by the Helio X10 octa-core processor, and strangely you get to choose between a 3GB and 4GB variant for the same price.

Also, if one looks at the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro, one might get confused between the two which is a shame as the Pro has better hardware than the Canvas 6.
