Logitech’s Ultimate Ears or UE brand has launched its Wonderboom Bluetooth speaker in India for Rs 7,995. UE Wonderboom is the latest addition to the product line up, succeeding the UE Roll 2 which has been selling in the market for a while now.
Unlike UE Roll 2, Wonderboom has been designed to accommodate multiple sound drivers, which means you get 360-degree audio output. Logitech also claims that UE Wonderboom has been specifically made to be used with a smartphone (via Bluetooth).
At Rs 7,995, the UE Wonderboom does not offer a 3.5-mm audio jack and microphone to offer voice calling. However, this ends up increasing the speaker’s battery life from 8 hours (that you get with Roll 2) to 10 hours with the Wonderboom.
Wonderboom is a signature UE product, not only for the way it looks (you get some funky colour options), but you’re also getting a sturdy product that can withstand drops, and hold its own in water, with an IPX7 rating.
The speaker can be charged via microUSB port that’s hidden underneath the flap. Like other UE products, you can pair two Wonderboom to convert mono to stereo music. The device is capable of pairing up to 8 device, so once that happens, you need to delete some profiles to be able to pair with new phones.
You can also check the battery level of the speaker by pressing the Volume Up and Down (+ and | button) at the same time. The louder the tone, the more battery life you have left!
At this price point, UE Wonderboom and Roll 2 are in close competition, but in terms of product, both carry a different design language as well as purpose.
