After 2 December, prices of recharge packages of Reliance Jio, Vodafone, and Airtel tariff plans is set to increase by 47% approximately.
On 1 December 2019, Vodafone and Airtel announced the increase of call and data charges levied on prepaid customers by 50 percent approx. Reliance Jio said that under its unlimited plan starting on 6 December, voice calling will be up to 40 percent costlier.
According to an India Times report, Vodafone-Idea recently suffered a loss of Rs 50,922 crore in the third quarter of the year. This is the biggest loss in the history of Indian telecom sector.
On the other hand, Airtel suffered a loss of Rs 23,045 crore. It is believed that after the big loss suffered by these telecom operators, they decided to increase the prices of their recharge plans.
Vodafone, Idea and Airtel have decided to increase their prices by about 40 percent, which is the biggest increase in 10 years. All companies will release new prices of their plans on 3 December.
If you are a postpaid user, the good news for you is that the prices of postpaid tariff plans of all companies will remain the same.
