Chinese technology giant Huawei has had a pretty rough ride in the past couple of weeks owing to the trade war between US and China that has led to American tech companies like Google, Intel and even BraodComm splitting ties with Huawei.

However, it looks like the Shenzhen-based company is ending the month of May on a high note.

It’s come to light that Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro smartphone has made it back into Google’s Android Q beta program. To add to this Huawei has also been reinstated in the SD Association's website, days after its name got removed from the portal in the wake of the recent US ban.

Google had removed Huawei devices (including the Huawei Mate 20 Pro) from its list of devices it will be sending updates to though the company made it clear that existing Huawei devices will continue to receive Google services.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro now seems to have re-appeared on Google’s Android Q Beta Page. The device is back in exactly the same position it was removed from earlier.

There is a possibility that this happened considering Huawei was granted a 90-day general licence to continue working on its existing products. This is a good sign for existing Huawei owners as they will continue to get the upcoming Android Q updates as well.

More good news came knocking at Huawei’s door as it was reinstated in the SD Association panel after being banned from it a few days back. A Huawei representative confirmed the above, but declined to provide more details.

What this means is that Hauwei smartphones and laptops will be able to use MicroSD cards for now. The Bluetooth and WiFi Association have also reinstated Huawei.

Looks like all of Huawei’s Christmas gifts have come at the same time.
