If you’ve got a Huawei phone or planning to buy one and some time in the near future Facebook apps or Google services stop working, then it’ll give you 100 percent refund for buying its device.

These tall claims from the company have been the reported by Huawei Central which also adds that this unique proposal is exclusive to Huawei phone users in Philippines for now.

The battle between the US government and the Chinese technology giant has brewed into an ugly global scene, which has affected other US-based companies like Intel, Qualcomm and Broadcomm among others.

Huawei did manage to get support for existing device from Google (for Android) which lasts until August this year, but Facebook has yet to give more clarity on how the ban is likely to be eased from its end.

The full refund policy is a smart move on Huawei’s part but the company is seriously taking a gamble by putting it out for users, especially when it doesn’t know how and when the battle is likely to end.

The report further points out that the refund will be given by the local official retailers (from whom we usually buy the phones), and not Huawei itself.

This is likely to offset Huawei’s business, which according to its founder is likely to push back its revenue targets for the next couple of years. In a recent interview, he likened his company to a badly damaged plane and said revenues will be $30 billion less than forecast over the next two years.

The full refund is definitely a drastic step taken out of force by the company, but we’re intrigued to see if this policy is brought to other countries, especially India as well.

After all, it’ll be hard to convince a buyer to get a phone which may or may not get Android in the next 12 months, and not come pre-loaded with any of apps from Facebook, even the popular ones like WhatsApp and Instagram.

And it’ll be even more interesting to see if buyers in India get lured by the prospect of getting all their money back, if and when Facebook or Google cut off from Huawei for good.
