Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor has debuted its first smart TV in the Indian market. The Honor Smart Vision was unveiled at the India Mobile Congress 2019 in New Delhi on Monday, 14 October.
The TV has been launched in the Chinese market already. India is the first recipient of the brand’s TV series lineup outside of China.
The Honor Vision Smart TV will be launched in India next year, in the first quarter, and will be priced in the same segment as Xiaomi’s Mi TV series.
The Honor Vision smart TV comes with a 55-inch display which supports 4K resolution. The TV also offers six 10-watt speakers and offers an integrated pop-up camera, which can be used to make video calls.
At just 6.9mm thick, it offers a very sleek design with a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The Honor Vision runs the company’s own HarmonyOS – still in its developmental stages – which aims to integrate India-based apps in an English language interface.
The company representatives said that the TV will be launched with the final version of HarmonyOS.
The company has also introduced something called the Honor Magic Link, which is primarily an NFC enable chip that lets you cast any content on your phone to the TV. You just have to tap the phone to the chip on the TV to mirror the content on the phone’s display.
