Google CEO Sundar Pichai is now the richest CEO in the United States of America (USA) after he was awarded stocks worth $199 million by owners of Alphabet, according to the annual filing made by California-based company.
According to a report by Bloomberg, this is Google’s highest award in stocks to a Google executive – 273,328 shares.
The added shares have brought Pichai’s holdings in Alphabet Inc to $650 million.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, was launched by Google’s previous owners – Larry Page and Sergey Brin – on 2 October 2015.
Page and Brin are both worth close to $35 billion each, according to a report by Business Insider.
Sundar Pichai, who was closely involved in Google services like YouTube and Google Play, took over as CEO in August 2015.
