Google’s hosting a media event on October 5 which in all probability will give us the so-called Pixel smartphones. As most reports indicate, Google has decided to discontinue its Nexus series, and will instead focus on the Pixel range of products from here on.

Google has publicly hoisted the teaser for the event, which will likely be hosted by Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai. The previous Nexus phones and tablets were also launched around this time of the year.

The Pixel phone, running on Android 7.0 Nougat, is expected to come in two variants; Pixel and Pixel XL, which differ in terms of the form size. There’s also a chance that we might see the renaissance of Nexus 7 tablet (or perhaps Pixel 7 ).

It’s quite possible that this teaser, released on a Nest TV commercial this week, has already let the Pixel out of the bag, or may be just a false alarm.

We’ll keep our eyes glued onto this one, and hopefully Google decides to reveal its plan with the supposed Pixel phones for the Indian market.
