It’s official!

Google has sent out invites for its big event slotted for 9 October in New York, which many are touting to be the official launch of the Google Pixel 3 smartphone.

There isn’t much to be taken from the animated invite apart from just a simple “I <3 NY” phrase, which looks like a heart emoticon or it could also mean “3” is greater than “i”, if you get what I am saying. (It’s a play on the Pixel 3 being greater than the iPhone, for those who didn’t get it.)

Earlier rumours suggested that the phone will be launched on 4 October, but with the official invite out, all speculation can be put to rest.

There isn’t much information about the device online. Barring a few leaked renders and specifications, the company has been quite hush-hush about its upcoming smartphone portfolio.

Going by what we saw last year with the introduction of the Google Pixelbook, Google Home and Home Mini and also the Pixel Buds we can expect a few more gizmos to be unveiled at the event.

We already know from rumours, the Pixel 3 will come with a notch and will retain the chin, just thinner this time around. Leaks also suggest that the phone will come with a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4GB RAM or 64GB storage and a 3430 mAh battery.

The next phone might also keep the single rear camera setup with a 12MP single lens sensor just as before with an 8MP selfie shooter in the front.
