Gmail is bringing ‘interactive mails’ to its email service, a year after it announced AMP support on Gmail.
The company has launched a Beta version of the same to its G Suite users. The AMP email is designed to make emails interactive without redirecting users to a separate web page.
Users can browse through carousels, RSVP to an event and/or fill out forms, straight from their inbox, the company confirmed in a blog post. Google is calling it a ‘Dynamic Inbox.’
In the blog post, Google gave the examples of Google docs, where instead of taking comments on Google docs, users will see an up-to-date thread within Gmail where they can reply to comments straight from their inbox.
The feature will be useful for businesses as well. Like Pinterest, where one can browse through pins in their inbox.
The blog also showed an example of OYO rooms, where hotel room options were in the mail itself. The example showed that the booking can also be completed in the mailbox itself.
