Apart from Android P, Google Lens was the next major attraction from the Google I/O 2018.

Google has been generous with its features this Tuesday. It isn’t surprising to see the Google Lens app now extending support to devices of seven new phone brands.

As expected, a host of brands are now partnering with Google to expand the reach of Google Lens. This means all the camera features that were only available to Pixel phone users till now, will come to OnePlus, Motorola, Sony and Nokia among others in the coming few weeks.

Smart text selection from Lens will let you click a picture of any signboard or poster that you’d want to share and you can even edit the text matter. It converts pictures to text.

Style Match works in a similar fashion, except, you’re able to identify a product in your wardrobe or the dressing table. It can pull up similar products from a search. It’s quite possible that Lens will let you click on a buy link for that product which is in front of you as well.

Lens will also cater to your picture demands by offering you the latest visuals of the nearby spots. Let’s say you’re in front of the Taj Mahal or a famous food joint in Delhi. With the Lens app (using machine learning) you’ll be able to see the real-time results of descriptions of the places. It also works for objects in a room, with results visible in real-time as you move around.
