Google has finally given its web browser, Chrome a fresh look, 10 years after it was launched in 2008.
The new design for the web browser comes with redesigned tabs, updated icons and new security and convenience features.
The tabs on the new Google Chrome are now rounded, changing from the angular design Google has been using for the past 10 years. According to Google, these tabs are designed to be easier to glance through, for people who keep many tabs open at once.
Google has also upgraded the address bar, which shows results within the bar itself when you search for something. Google will tell you information about celebrities, weather, events, etc within the address bar itself.
This feature, however, has been there for a while. Whether the new update has made it more effortless and accurate, remains to be seen when the update rolls out.
The address bar can now also find and open a tab and switch to it.
On the security front, Google has also added a built-in ad-blocker that removes malicious ads, preventing them from accessing your computer or phone.
This means less auto-playing videos, countdowns, and page-takeovers on your screen.
Chrome will generate and suggest unique passwords for various sites when you sign up, using its improved password manager. If the user chooses the password suggested by Chrome, it will store it for you to access on all your devices. You have to be logged in to access this feature.
Apart from that, Google has been integrating machine learning into Chrome to detect malware and phishing links.
