The world of Internet users in India had been jolted a while back, when Facebook seemingly was inaccessible to many users across the country.
The social networking platform, along with Instagram was reported to be down briefly by many users in the country. Interestingly, this seems to have an isolated incident, as all the outage reports were recorded from India only.
Twitterati bombarded the social media platform with screenshots of the website being down. Where one section of users are not able to access the desktop version of the website, there are reports that even the mobile browser version is not accessible to some.
The website went down for over half an hour and many users were not able to access the website.
According to the Facebook Outage map, and Downrightnow were flooded with users reporting of the issue, mostly coming from cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru among others.
We have reached out to Facebook to get an official comment on the matter and we’ll update the copy once they touch base with us.
