A couple of years ago, there were hardly any smartphone companies that would stand up to the might of Samsung. Their smartphones dominated the market and were considered stiff competition for the likes of Apple and Sony.

Now, with so many Chinese players in the market, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the South Korean tech giant to maintain its presence amongst the top smartphone selling companies in India.

With the introduction of the C7 Pro, Samsung is now trying to tap into the mid-range segment of the market. But does the phone have enough edge to take on the might of the OnePlus 3T, a phone that has set new standards in the sub 30,000 rupees category?

Display: Size Advantage with Samsung

Although, on paper, both phones sport full HD displays, the C7 Pro screen size is bigger, which we feel hardly matters. The 5.7 inch screen of the C7 Pro comes with a pixel density of 386 ppi. The 5.5 inch display of the OnePlus 3T, on the other hand, stands at 401 ppi. Both displays are good and we won’t choose a winner here.

OnePlus 3T: A Champion Performer

Now here is where the OnePlus 3T blows away its competition. The Snapdragon 821 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM in the 3T, makes this phone a rocket. It also comes with 64GB internal storage, but sadly, it isn’t expandable However, there is a 128GB variant for the ones who need to fit in a bit extra.

The C7 Pro, although, sports an impressive spec sheet, it’s nowhere close to being as impressive as the 3T. The C7 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor and 4GB RAM. A bit of an advantage with the C7 Pro is the expandable storage option, which goes up to 256GB via a microSD card.

OnePlus 3T, a definite winner in this department.

Good Optics on Both Phones

Camera performance for both devices is good. While the Samsung C7 Pro comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with a dual-tone LED flash, the OnePlus 3T also sports a 16-megapixel snapper at the back. There’s a marginal difference in the aperture. The C7 has a f/1.9 lens, while the OnePlus comes with a f/2.0 lens. Also, one good thing about the OnePlus camera is that it offers 4k recording. Both sport 16-megapixel front camera too, so again, nothing to separate them.

Enough Battery Juice in This Duo

Battery backup will never be a problem with these two devices. Where the Samsung C7 Pro comes with 3300mAh battery juice, the OnePlus 3T comes with a hefty 3400mAh battery.

An added advantage with both these android devices is that they come bundled with fast battery charging technology, which is essential for people on the go.

OnePlus 3T or C7 Pro: Which Is the 'Paisa Vasool' Phone?

The Samsung C7 Pro brings to the table features like good battery life and a more than average camera setup. At a price tag of Rs 27,999, it is a good phone, but not as good as the OnePlus 3T.

Yes, the Rs 29,999 price point of the 3T might make you think twice before you make the final buying decision, but rest assured, every penny invested in this phone is worth it. You get amazing performance with a premium form factor, not to mention the camera of the 3T is also impressive.

So for us, this isn’t tough to call. If you’re looking for a phone under the 30k bracket, the OnePlus 3T is an excellent choice.
