Apple, at its event on Tuesday, 30 October, finally made an upgrade to its most affordable laptop, the MacBook Air. The MacBook Air, for the first time ever has been given a retina display, a TouchID, a bigger Force Touch track pad and the latest processors with an all new design.

The new MacBook Air will be the most affordable Retina display MacBook ever.

Like the new iPad and the Mac Mini, the MacBook Air has also been equipped with Apple's T2 security chip and a Thunderbolt 3 port.

The new MacBook Air missed out on the memory card slot and the USB ports in the previous version.

The 13.3-inch Retina Display has over 4 million pixels resolution and 48 percent more colours than the non-retina display Macbook Air.

On the security front, the new MacBook Air comes with Touch ID and Apple's T2 security chip. The touch sensor is mounted within the keyboard under a sapphire black casing.

The MacBook Air also comes with a newly-designed keyboard, to cater to a more precise and responsive typing experience. All the keys are individually backlit using low-power LEDs. The new Force Touch trackpad, also features pressure-sensing capabilities and haptic feedback, and is 20 percent larger than the previous generation MacBook Air.

The MacBook Air will come with a new 8th Generation Intel Core i5 Processor with intel UHD graphics processor and upto 16GB of RAM. The new MacBook Air also features SSDs that can store up to 1.5 TB of data.

Apple claims that the processing is 60 percent faster than the previous generation and make launching apps and opening files snappier and more responsive.

The battery has also been improved and the new MacBook Air delivers upto 12 hours of battery life during wireless web use and up to 13 hours of iTunes movie playback.
