The wait for Android O is likely to end on 21 August when Google might unveil what the 'O' actually stands for in Android 8.
This possibility has been shared by renowned leakster, Evan Blass, who tweeted out saying we’ll finally know what Google has decided to name Android 8.0 or O as.
Google had released the very last Android O Developer Preview (version 4) recently and the major software update would start with the Pixel line-up of smartphones.

This report hasn’t been officially confirmed by Google yet, but going with Blass’ history, we won’t be surprised if this actually come through. Interestingly, there’s still no word on whether Google would unveil the second generation Pixel 2 in front of the world.

Usually, we have seen Google’s hardware-centric announcements happen around October, so we’ll be surprised, if they manage to change that trend.
