Google I/O 2017: Google’s Android Go Is Perfect for Budget Phones

Android Go is a lighter version of Android made for devices with low-end hardware. Is it tailor made for India?

Google for a very long time has been trying to offer more to the budget phone category especially to phones with low-end hardware. This year at Google I/O, the company announced Android Go which is an optimised version of Android.

Google said that its applications and Playstore apps have been optimised in such a way that phone with even less than 1GB RAM will be easily able to run Android Go. All those Android devices with less than 1GB of RAM will automatically get Android Go starting with Android’s upcoming OS being called Android O.

Google also said that it will release an Android Go variant for all future Android versions going forward.

Google also said that the first Android Go devices will start rolling out in 2018. This comes as great news for smartphone users in India as the number of ultra-affordable and budget phones in the country is increasing at a rapid rate.
