The OnePlus 2 has finally been launched and the company touts it as a flagship killer. The specifications on this phone can take on the big daddies of the smartphone world like the Samsung Galaxy S6, the LG G4 and the HTC One M9 – all this, in just Rs 24,999 with 64GB of on-board storage.

The phone’s predecessor, the OnePlus One, is still amongst the best phones out there in the mid-range android segment. In fact, both the phones have a lot in common, but here are 5 things that make the OnePlus 2 stand out.

1. A Dual SIM 4G Smartphone

The OnePlus 2 is a dual SIM smartphone and is a 4G device. Both the SIM slots support 4G bands in India. Also, this makes it one of the best dual SIM smartphones in the country right now, purely on the basis of specs.

2. Packs in More Processing Power

OnePlus 2 packs in Qualcomm’s flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 810 that has a 64-bit octa-core architecture and Adreno 430 GPU. And guess what? This is the upgraded version of the 810 SoC so the heating issues might not be there.

That’s not all. The OnePlus 2 packs in 4GB RAM. The only other phone, right now, that comes close enough is the Asus Zenfone 2.

3. Bigger Better Battery

The battery on the OnePlus 2 is bigger than what you get on the OnePlus One. It packs in a non-removable 3,300mAh battery. We have used the phone only for a day after a full charge and there is still some juice left in it.

More on the battery in our final review.

4. The USB Type C

The OnePlus 2 comes loaded with the new USB Type C for charging and data transfer.

The phone gets rid of the micro-USB port that was present on the OnePlus One. There will be no fast charging support for the time being on the phone.

5. Fingerprint Scanner

Like all other flagships, OnePlus 2 now comes with a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the phone and apps. That adds to the biometric security of data on the phone.

The scanner is similar to what you’ll find on the iPhone, HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6.
