The Tata Nexon has already started arriving at dealerships after bookings began earlier this month. It is available only with a six-speed manual transmission at the moment, in both petrol and diesel engine options. Tata will soon introduce automatic variants with both engines too.

The Nexon will be available in five colour choices: Moroccan blue, Vermont red, Seattle silver, Glasgow grey and Calgary white.

The petrol model of the Tata Nexon comes with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder, turbo-charged, petrol engine that puts out 110PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. The diesel variant comes with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, diesel engine that puts out 110PS of power and 260Nm of torque.

Its main rivals are the Maruti Vitara Brezza (currently available only in diesel, petrol coming soon) and Ford EcoSport. The Tata Nexon does put out better power and torque figure in the diesel variant compared to its rivals, while the petrol is about at par with the Ford EcoSport (Ecoboost) on torque.

Tata Nexon Price Comparison

How does it compare on price? The Maruti Vitara Brezza is available only in diesel and is priced between Rs 7.24 lakh and Rs 9.91 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The Ford EcoSport is priced between Rs 6.68 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh ex-showroom, across both petrol and diesel variants. The Honda WR-V is priced between Rs 7.67 lakh and Rs 9.92 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, again with both petrol and diesel variants. Among these, the Ford EcoSport is the only model with an automatic transmission - only in petrol.
