Online food delivery platform Swiggy faced an outage in different parts of India on Wednesday, 28 August, with several users complaining of not being able to place their orders.
Swiggy put out a statement attributing the issue to a ‘technical glitch’
“Earlier this evening, we faced a tech glitch and have had to cancel a few orders. All canceled orders will be auto refunded. We are getting back on track to delivering orders. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused,” it said.
Downdetector.in, a website that tracks outages on websites, also confirmed the issue with Swiggy.
The outage map showed that the issues were spotted across major cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
Meanwhile, users took to Twitter expressing their disappointment at the outage on the food delivery app.
Some offered a comical take on the issue.
While others seemed miffed with the customer care services of Swiggy.
