Xiaomi Likely To Launch Its Cheapest Android Phone in India

Xiaomi’s upcoming entry-level smartphone is set to run on Android Go.

Xiaomi’s first Android Go smartphone dubbed the Redmi Go was launched this year in January and went up for pre-orders the very next month in the Philippines. Now, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Go in India and it is likely to be launched on 19 March.

The Redmi Go is an entry-level smartphones and is expected to be launched under Rs 5,000. The variant that was launched in the Philippines was launched at PHP 3,990 (roughly Rs. 5,400).

In terms of specifications, the upcoming Xioami phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. These are typical specs you’d get in an entry-level phone running Android Go.

The Redmi Go phone launched in the Philippines comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash. On the front it offers a 5-megapixel camera that supports HDR mode. For back up, the phone comes with a 3,000mAh battery and is said to provide a stand by time of 10 days.
