After getting a glimpse of the 2019 Apple iPhone in its first leak, it’s time for OnePlus to start building attention for its next flagship device.

The first leaked image of the rumoured OnePlus 7 has been spotted by a tipster on the internet and from the looks of it, the 2019 model phone is likely to sport a slider camera setup. This feature was first seen with Oppo Find X premium smartphone that was launched in India for over Rs 50,000 last year.

We’ve usually seen that OnePlus devices get features that first make their way to either Oppo or Vivo phones. And having all three brands being a part of the same family has helped all of them over the past few years in the market.

As you can see in the leaked image below, you’ve got the existing OnePlus 6T phone with its water drop notch placed next to the rumoured OnePlus 7 prototype. And the casing of the phone is a strong indication of the possible slider camera option.

Even if OnePlus adopts this highly technical feature, it will feel like a move that’s not expected of the brand. Yes, they did remove the headphone jack, even after getting a clear vote of confidence to retain it from the consumers, but going for a premium feature like this also jacks up the price of the device.

Also, we’ve already seen that 2019 is likely to be the year of punch-hole cameras and we’re kind digging the technology, with how the screen estate gets bigger viewing space.

And while OnePlus phones have seen a gradual increase in their starting prices, users will find it hard to convince themselves to pay for a phone that costs over Rs 50,000.

With the Oppo Find X, you got a camera that pops-up! Literally!

The motorised pop-up hatch housing both the 16+20-megapixel rear and the 25-megapixel front camera opened up when the camera mode and the face ID unlock are activated. The slider stayed hidden until activated.

The leaked photo could turn out to be a test version, but it could also be the premium OnePlus phone which is reported to get support for 5G in 2019.
