Whenever these two smartphone companies launch their flagship devices in the market, the tech fraternity goes bonkers figuring out which one is a better bargain.

Some like the design of a OnePlus device while the other likes the camera better on the Honor phone.

It’s that time of the year again and we have two mercurial offerings from Honor and OnePlus.

Here is a quick comparison between the Honor View 10 and the OnePlus 5T to see which is a better bargain.

Design & Display

Here are two well-designed and good looking phones. The OnePlus 5T has an eye-catching design and feels very comfortable in the hand. It has a curved back, offering a better grip to the user.

The Honor View 10 has a flat back and is a tad heavier than the 5T. The smooth metal finish at the back tends to be slippery if you have dry hands.

I loved the fact that Honor View 10 offers multiple colour options like Blue, Black, Gold and Red. The OnePlus 5T comes in just two colour variants being black and white (sandstone finish).

Both phones comes with 6-inch full HD+ display with a 1080 x 2160 resolution, though the 5T holds an upper hand because of its AMOLED panel which outputs better colours.

Performance & Storage

Both these phones are very powerful. While the OnePlus 5T runs on the latest Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6GB RAM, the Honor View 10 is running on a Hisilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM.

At the helm of it all is the Honor View 10’s artificial intelligence.

I know it sounds gimmicky, but the user experience is indeed more intuitive and also renders the applications more conducive to the user’s style.

The OnePlus 5T comes in an 8GB RAM variant which makes it a more powerful option if one really wants all that power (which you will rarely be using).

OnePlus has always been very restricted with their phone storage policies. Never has it gone down the road of offering expandable storage and the same continues with the 5T.

The OnePlus 5T comes only in two variants, 64GB and 128GB, with no expandable storage options. The Honor View 10 comes in just a 128GB storage variant which is expandable up to 256GB.

Camera & Battery

Though both the phones come with a dual camera combination of 16+20-megapixel at the back there is still a difference between the quality of the two. The OnePlus 5T comes with a f/1.7 aperture lens which ensures better low light pictures.

The Honor View 10 comes with f/1.8 aperture. Decent low light performance here as well. To make things interesting I will put out a camera shootout between these two phones very soon.

The Honor View 10 comes with a 3,750mAh non-removable battery which has fast charging capability. It charges up to 80 percent in an hour which is great for a big battery.

The OnePlus 5T’s 3,300mAh is enough to get you through the day. Fast charging gets you 0-57 percent in just 30 minutes which is great. The Honor View 10 fast charging gave me 0-46 percent in 30 minutes. Not bad!

Really, there is nothing to separate them apart from the fact that the View 10 battery is bigger and lasts much longer.

Which One to Buy?

Some people really need to get out of that hypnotic grip that OnePlus has in the Indian market.

The Honor View 10 is a fierce competitor against the OnePlus 5T, not to mention it’s Rs 3,000 cheaper.

Not saying that the OnePlus 5T is a bad phone, I would rather keep both these devices in the same pedestal as both are equally good and have their own pros and cons.

For people wanting to save that extra Rs 3,000 and still end up with a good phone, the Honor view 10 is a great bargain; else you can also have a go at the OnePlus 5T.
