Google has unveiled the latest Pixel 2 set of smartphones, which will be available very soon. But we’re pleased to see that India is one of seven countries where the Pixel 2 XL will be available.
Google Pixel 2 India Pricing:
- Google Pixel 2
- 64 GB: Rs 61,000
- 128 GB: Rs 70,000
- Google Pixel 2 XL
- 64 GB: Rs 73,000
- 128 GB: Rs 82,000
So, as you can see, even the top storage variant of the Pixel 2 XL will cost less than the Apple iPhone X in India this year. The phones will be available sometime in November, as confirmed by Google.
Pixel 2 XL
This one is the flagship Pixel product and you get a 6-inch form factor with 18:9 ratio screen and an OLED display panel offering 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution.
The phone packs Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM and will be available in 64 and 128GB storage options. It gets an aluminium body design, with the addition of IP67 for water and dust resistance.
For imaging, Pixel 2 XL comes with 12.2-megapixel snapper at the back, but no dual unit. The camera features aperture f/1.8 with OIS for better low-light photos and stabilised videos.
Pixel 2 XL comes with USB Type C port, and Google claims that the 3520mAh battery unit on the device can last up to 7 hours with just 15 minutes of charging. Other than that, you get front-facing stereo speakers, but Pixel 2 XL misses out on the 3.5-mm audio jack (we’ll check on that).
Pixel 2
This is definitely the cheaper of the lot, but that entails that you also get less features compared to that on the Pixel 2 XL.
Pixel 2 is smaller with a 5-inch display offering 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution only. Luckily, Pixel 2 packs the same hardware as on the Pixel 2 XL with Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM and large storage options available.
The cameras are also the same (with identical specs and capability).
It is safe to say that Google has taken a cue from Apple’s iPhone X and ensured that the design changes are prominent and appealing on the bigger (and expensive) variant of the Pixel 2.
