With the change in climate conditions across the globe, heat has become a hot topic, quite literally.

Which is why, we’re not surprised that technology companies are working on air conditioners which can easily fit inside your shirt, so that you don’t have to worry about carrying them everywhere.

And we’ve come across one such device, from Japanese tech giant Sony which is called the Reon Pocket. It costs cheaper than the regular ACs with a price tag of around Rs 9,000 and has been listed on Kickstarter for funds to make this device. So, if the company doesn’t get the required money, this device will never make it beyond the Japanese market.

Prices of Reon Pocket

  • One device and one inner wear - Rs 8,990 (approx)
  • One device and five inner wear - Rs 12,990 (approx)

The Reon Pocket is a small device which basically fits into this inner wear from the back (as seen in the image at the top). Being a smart device, users can control and monitor the temperature of the device (with respect to the need of the body) with an app on the smartphone.

This means, the Reon Pocket can be used in cold and hot conditions, which can either cool you down, or keep you warm.

The tech used for Reon Pocket has been derived out of those we see daily in cars and even the wine chillers. The dedicated inner wear with a pocket to fit the device, is available in Small (S), Medium (M) and Large (L) sizes, but the company has stated that it is available for men only as of now.

Reon Pocket is rechargeable with the lithium-ion battery fitted and the person can wear it for the entire day by charging the device for just two hours. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 LE to pair with your smartphone.
