The 2016 Auto Expo saw a revamp of existing Volkswagen models by the German automaker, along with the all new Ameo.
The company’s latest offering will be entering the sub-4 metre compact sedan segment, and seems to have high hopes for the Ameo.
Ameo
Riding onto the wave of interest that is being generated for the sub-4 meter compact sedans in the country, the Ameo seems to be a Polo from the front and a Vento from the back. The difference is visible when you look at it from the sides, as the boot seems to be simply cut short.
The car will be available with two fuel engine options – 1.2 litre 3-cylinder MPI (petrol) and a 1.5 litre 4-cylinder TDI engine (diesel).
Passat GTE
The Passat GTE is a plug-in hybrid powered by an electric motor and a TSI engine.
The car comes with a Petrol- Electric Hybrid power train, mated with a 6-speed DSG gear box. It has a combined power (engine + electric motor) output of approximately 218 PS.
The company seems to have taken lessons from their mistakes, as the VW Passat’s engine will be capable of delivering EU 6 Emissions norms.
Tiguan
The full-blown SUV by the German automaker is powered by a 2.0 litre TSI engine mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, giving a power output of 177 horsepower.
The Tiguan, too, will be compliant with Euro 6 Emission Norms.
New Polo & Vento
Both of these have been given a facelift and equipped with new technologies like rain sensing wipers, auto dimming rear-view mirrors, and iPod connectivity.
Additionally, the Vento will be equipped with LED head lamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).
