Volkswagen India has announced that it has registered cumulative sales of 38,633 units this year in the January-October period. This marks a growth of 6.5 per cent, from the 36,296 units sales registered last year over the same period.

Volkswagen has registered a steady sales performance, boosted by our special festival period campaign. The celebrated Volksfest campaign, offering exciting range of benefits to our customers, has garnered enthusiastic response and it will continue through the Diwali period. We are well on course to give customers even more reasons to visit the Volkswagen showrooms in near future with new products being planned in the next 18 months. We will usher in exciting times at Volkswagen with the introduction of iconic Beetle in immediate time to come.

Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd.

Volkswagen recently introduced the limited edition Polo Exquisite and the new Vento Highline Plus to further boost its product offering. The company has been in the news worldwide due to the ‘dieselgate’ scandal in the US, and it is currently being investigated by the ARAI for emission standards in India as well, the report of which is expected in November.

But the German car maker is positive that they will come out clean in India and are also planning to expand it’s product portfolio in the local market.
