Many consider the sports bike market in India to cater to a very niche category, but in recent years the number of buyers looking to invest in sports bikes has increased considerably.

Motorcycles like the R15 have a huge fan following in India and following that success the company launched an upgrade dubbed the R15 V3.

Indian bike maker TVS is also know for it’s expertise in racing and ‘riding’. It has launched motorcycles like the Apache RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 with this theme. The company proudly markets its ‘Racing DNA’ tagline with these bikes. Now, TVS has upped the game with the launch of its first full-faring sports bike in India, the TVS Apache RR 310.

Since these two motorcycles have been rigorously tested on racing tracks, we thought of taking them to test on the streets of Delhi to see how they perform in traffic among pedestrians and even on the highways to test their manouverability.

Both the bikes are different in terms of specifications, handling and also price which is why we want to be clear in saying that this is not a comparison. Rather, it’s an experience of how the bikes would fare in street conditions.

The Apache RR 310 comes with a fuel-injected 312cc engine that pumps out 34 PS of power and 27.3 Nm of torque.

The Yamaha R15 is not as powerful as it comes with a 155cc engine with 19.3 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque. Both these motorcycles have been mated to a 6-speed gearbox and come with 17-inch tubeless tyres and disc brakes on both the front and the back.

The Apache RR 310 is more of a premium offering at Rs 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Yamaha R15 V3 comes in at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Check out the video above to see how they fared.
