Another round of recalls is on the cards and this time it’s owners of Triumph Motorcycles around the world, including India who’ve got some issues to be sorted out.

The British brand has issued a recall for a variety of its bikes. Reports say that over 1,000 bikes are likely to be affected because of an issue spotted in some of its bikes.

The recall, which started of in the US, affecting around 12,000 motorcycles, has now been issued in India as well and bike owners will be contacted by the company to get their free-of-cost replacement parts at the earliest.

For India, Triumph Motorcycles is asking owners of the Bonneville (T100 and T120), Street Twin and Street Scrambler range to bring their bikes in for a potential issue with the wiring harness.

Most of Triumph’s concern lies in the US market, where recall lineup includes Bonneville T100, T100 Black (2017-2019), Bonneville T120, T120 Black (2016-2019), Street Twin, Street Twin A2 (2016-2018), Street Scrambler (2017-2018) and Street Cup. Understandably, the company decided to reach out to its buyers in the US first.

For those in India with the aforementioned Triumph bikes, they will have to head over to a service centre for a quick check up, in order to get the affected wiring harness replaced, free of cost.

The company claims the issue in these bikes is with a wiring harness in the head stock.

Reports say that the clutch cable while brushing against the wiring harness could damage the wire, resulting in issues with electrical parts like headlamp, turn indicator and even the ignition system. It is being said that along with the recall in India and US, a total of 68,686 motorcycles from the brand have been affected globally.

The clutch wire issue poses serious concerns and it’s highly recommended that the owners of the bikes get their repairs done pronto.
