We all look up to legends for inspiration. However, there are some legends whose stories remain untold. They work selflessly to make society a better place to live in, but their contribution is never recognised. TOTAL HI-PERF brings you stories of such legends by way of a digital video series called ‘Ride For Legends’.
TOTAL has introduced its HI-PERF Motorcycle Engine Oil that promises you an enjoyable ride, every single time. The campaign brings to life how the product provides protection, absolute performance and smoothness to the bike’s engine. As part of this video series, TOTAL HI-PERF is bringing to light the stories of four unhailed legends who are contributing tirelessly to society. What makes it all the more interesting is that four moto-vloggers set out on their bikes to discover these legends and showcase their stories to the world. These videos have been co-created along with popular YouTube channel Powerdrift and are also available on Voot.
1. Mohammed Salim Khan is passionate about bike riding and traveling and loves to capture real emotions of real people along his journey. Salim introduces us to Aarti who has dedicated her life to the education of underprivileged girls. She runs ‘Sakhi For Girls Education’ that believes in creating quality learning spaces for girls belonging to the disadvantaged sections of society. It was founded in 2008 and is growing with each passing day.
2. Jasminder Singh simply loves riding on the streets of Delhi on his bike, especially during winters. He firmly believes that all it takes to do something is the desire to do it and nothing else. Jasminder takes us into the life of Pratima Devi. She’s a mother to nearly 300 stray dogs. From feeding them to attending to their medical needs, Pratima Devi does it all herself with occasional help from some good Samaritans. The street is her home and the dogs are her family.
3. Ogden Fernandes, or Oggy, as he’s lovingly called, is so passionate about bikes that he documents his rides on his YouTube channel called ‘Oggy F’. The legend Oggy meets is Siddharth who is all of 16 years old. This teenager brought about a change in the lives of 1200 BMC employees by making purified drinking water accessible to them. Siddharth proves it that being a legend has nothing to do with age.
4. Dino is no stranger to the streets of Hyderabad. That’s where he learnt to ride a bike and ultimately lived his motorcycle dream. As a rider, he’s well-aware of how dangerous potholes are. Incidentally, the legend he introduces us to is Gangadhar Tilak – a man who runs a ‘pothole ambulance’. Gangadhar goes about the streets of Hyderabad in his ‘ambulance’ and fills potholes on his own. He doesn’t even accept donations and believes that people should come together to solve their local problems.
TOTAL HI-PERF believes in raaste mein jo bhi aaye, mazaa zarur ayega. So the next time you take your bike for a ride, look for such legends whose stories are unheard and tell them to the world.
