Hyundai Venue Compact SUV Launched, Prices Start at Rs 6.5 Lakh

Hyundai India has launched its most-awaited compact SUV – the Hyundai Venue. Prices start at Rs 6.5 lakh for the base petrol model going up to Rs 11.10 lakh ex-showroom for the fully loaded automatic variant. It gets a total of 11 trim levels across 1.4 litre diesel, 1.2 litre petrol and 1 litre turbo-petrol models, with 7-speed automatic, 6-speed and 5-speed manual transmission options.

The Hyundai Venue will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V for a share of the popular compact SUV segment.

Anti-Trust Body Probing Allegations Against Maruti Suzuki India

Discounting is a big part of business strategy in India, but according to a Reuters exclusive report, one major company has taken the anti-competitive route to get things done.

The report alleges that Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car maker is being probed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for resorting to practices of controlling how discounts are offered by its dealers in the country.

This has been mentioned by unnamed sources in the report and a detailed investigation on the matter could do damage to the company.

Lawsuit Filed Against Royal Enfield in US For Patent Infringement

Electric auto components maker Flash Electronics India on Monday said it has filed a law suit against Eicher Motors Ltd's Royal Enfield in the US for alleged patent infringement of a component used in two-wheelers.

According to the suit, Royal Enfield (the two wheeler division of Eicher Motors) has infringed Flash Electronics' patent on "a regulator rectifier device and method for regulating an output voltage of the same" issued by the United States Patent & Trademark Office on 20 February, 2018.
