Fans of supercars in India wait for the biannual Auto Expo to see their dream machines in the flesh. The car manufacturers are aware of this anticipation and bring in their jazziest, fastest of cars for display at their pavillions.
At the 2016 Auto Expo, there were plenty such cars. We bring you a list of the best and flashiest and, unable to choose a favourite, the list is in no particular order!
Audi R8 V10 Plus
The Audi R8 V10 Plus was the main attraction at Audi’s stall, and we see no reason why it wouldn’t be!
The car is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces 610 horsepower. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kmh in as little as 3.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of 330 kmh.
Nissan GT-R
Nissan has announced that its iconic GT-R will be available in the country by September this year.
The Nissan GT-R has a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine that, according to Nissan, produces 543 horsepower and 632 Nm of torque. It’s also got a host of in-car technologies that provide smooth handling and an all-wheel drive system that promises to make the Nissan GT-R enjoyable driving, even for novices.
What’s interesting to note is that no two GT-R’s are same, since every engine is hand-built to completion by a single person.

Chevrolet Corvette
The Corvette is one of the two muscle cars that stood at the Chevrolet pavilion, and this one packs a lot of power.
Powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine, it churns out a mind-blowing 460 horsepower and goes from 0-100 kmh in an impressive 3.7 seconds.
Chevrolet Camaro SS
The other muscle car at Chevrolet’s pavilion was the Corvette’s long-time rival – the Chevrolet Camaro SS.
This car too has a long legacy, just like the Corvette, and is powered by a 6.2 litre LT1 V8 engine which is capable of pushing out 455 horsepower and 617 Nm of torque.
Mated to an 8-speed automatic, it is capable of reaching 100 kmh from standstill in 4 seconds flat.

Jeep Cherokee SRT
Yes, we know we have included a full-blown SUV in our list of supercars, but wait till you hear about it.
Being a Jeep, it is capable of navigating most terrains you care to throw at it.
On top of that, it has been designed to go fast. If you want to talk numbers, it is powered by a 6.4 litre V8 Engine that produces 475 horsepower, giving the SRT a top speed of 258 kmh and a 0-100 kmh acceleration time of 4.8 seconds.
This car may be huge, but it packs enough punch to go just as fast as a supercar.
