Tata Motors seems to be betting big on their upcoming hatchback Tiago, which was previously called Zica, and have started the booking process for it.
The car goes up against the already established hatchbacks in the Indian market, like the Ford Figo and the Honda Jazz. The Tiago’s launch has been getting delayed repeatedly as the car’s previous nameplate read ‘Zica’, a name that sounded similar to the Zika virus.
The change in name took place, and Tata Motors finally seems ready to proceed with the sales. In order to generate interest among potential buyers, the company has announced that the car can be booked with a payment on Rs 10,000. After this, the customer will have to tell the company ‘I love Tata Tiago because...’ and the most creative responses will be shortlisted by Tata.
Out of this list, five winners will go to Barcelona. Why? to meet the brand ambassador of the company – Lionel Messi.
We are told that Tiago’s official launch could take place soon.
