Tata’s upcoming compact SUV. the Nexon, has been spotted on the road in India and this one looks like the production-ready avatar of the car. The Nexon is part of Tata’s revamped product portfolio that follows the Tiago and the recently launched Tigor coupe.
The Nexon will directly compete with Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. As you can see here, the rear profile of the Nexon clearly shows the compact dimensions of the car, and we think it’s nothing like what we have seen from Tata Motors till date.
The Tata Nexon will be a bold and sporty compact SUV with a fairly robust list of features. It will be available with a 1.2 litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a new 1.5 litre diesel one. It will get a new six-speed gearbox as well.
As we saw at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016, the Tata Nexon will sport multiple drive modes and a Harman infotainment system. It seems more spacious than the Maruti Vitara Brezza, with a slightly better seating position and more boot space.
Check out images of the Nexon that was spotted during road testing. It looks pretty similar to the one displayed at the Expo, which shows that Tata isn't cutting any corners with the Nexon.
The compact SUV is expected to be launched around the festive season this year, and we really hope that the company manages to pack in a lot of features, without going over the top with its pricing.
